Day 1 – Guilin to Bajiaozhai
Meet the group in Guilin before transferring north to the dramatic pink sandstone landscapes of Bajiaozhai National Park. An afternoon walk to the mountain temple offers sweeping views across the Danxia formations before settling into a comfortable mountain guesthouse for our first dinner together.
Day 2 – Bajiaozhai to Chetian
Our first ride winds through forested valleys and quiet mountain roads, with optional climbs rewarded by long descents and spectacular scenery. Traditional minority villages, terraced hillsides and colourful local life make this one of the most memorable riding days of the trip.
Day 3 – Chetian to Longsheng Hot Springs
Today’s ride continues through the mountains, visiting small Yao, Miao and Dong communities rarely seen by foreign visitors. We finish in a narrow valley at Longsheng Hot Springs, where natural outdoor pools provide the perfect reward after a day in the saddle.
Day 4 – Longsheng Region
A shorter ride explores peaceful back roads, riverside villages and fertile valleys before lunch. The afternoon is flexible, with opportunities for short walks, local markets or simply another soak in the hot springs while enjoying the relaxed pace of rural Guangxi.
Day 5 – Towards Guilin
Leaving the mountains behind, the route gradually opens into broad farming valleys where rice paddies, orchards and traditional villages replace the steeper terrain. Quiet country lanes, friendly encounters and excellent local food make for another rewarding day on the bike.
Day 6 – Guilin
Our final ride follows rivers, ancient canals and farmers’ pathways back towards Guilin’s iconic limestone peaks. After lunch we pack the bikes before transferring into Guilin, arriving in time for the opening of the Yangshuo Bike Festival.
