www.trip.com is the easiest way to book train tickets to and from Yangshuo for those without a Chinese credit card, but there are still some tricks for getting tickets when everything looks sold out..
There is one direct train from Shenzhen to Yangshuo, though many more if you go via Guangzhou.
The special direct train is G2908 and it is always sold out unless ticketed all the way to Liuzhou, two stations up the track (at hardly any extra cost.)
The same applies for the train coming back. It has to be booked from Liuzhou!
Its a bargain for a short notice train ticket, and always seems to work.
Shenzhen to Yangshuo train usually can only be purchase if ticketed all the way to Liuzhou.
The return train is a little early however so consider staying on until the Monday to get the direct G2910 return train – also ticketed from Liugong, but passing through Yangshuo station at 9.49 AM.
Staying another night in Yangshuo will be loads off fun. Many people are and we will book you into the beautiful Outside Inn close to where we finish up on the Sunday afternoon ( think afternoon beer garden session with acoustics guitar in the countryside enjoying the prospect of another day off work).
